Stretch with a chair

The hardest part in front split is to stretch iliopsoas muscle to put your back thigh on the floor in
a split without turning your hips.

This stretch will allow you to reach a deeper amplitude in a split.

  • Place your knee on a chair, step into a lunge. Make sure your front knee does not form a sharp angle.
  • Try to reach the floor with your back leg (or imagine that you want to swing your back leg backwards) while opening your chest and pushing it up as if you want to reach the ceiling with your chest.
  • Hold this stretch a few seconds and switch legs.
